Finding Print Guides
Print copies of a variety of ILTS study guides are found in the Ballenger Teachers Center in the Teaching Materials area.

Basic Skills study materials are found at LB 1771
Content Area
study materials are found at LB 1772
Finding Online Guides
To find many of the same guides as the ones found in print in the BTC, go to the EIU Online Catalog.
In the search box, type "ICTS" as a keyword search. ICTS (Illinois Certification Testing System) was the recent name for the current Illinois Licensure Testing System (ILTS).
Narrow your search by clicking on Electronic Books under Location.
If you are off-campus, you will be prompted to enter your EIU Net ID and password for full access.
Additional Resources
A practice test for the Praxis Exam (a national exam for Education) can be found in the database Testing & Education Reference Center. While the PRAXIS guides are not identical to the ILTS Tests, they are still useful as study tools. PRAXIS I is comparable to the Basic Skills Test, and PRAXIS II is comparable to the content area tests.
To get to this exam, choose Magazine & Journal Articles from the Library Home page.
From the page that appears, choose All Databases in the Tab at the top
Near the bottom of the resulting list is the Testing & Education Reference Center.
After you choose this database, hover over the Career Tools section and choose Teaching (PRAXIS).

Testing & Education Reference Center - Praxis

At the Illinois State Board of Education website, study guides and other resources for the TAP (basic skills) and content area tests can be found on the Illinois Licensure Testing System page.
